wishing so hard for opposable thumbs

... but doing fine without them. She does this only when there are loose, biscuit-like treats in the kong and gravity will help her get at them.



(I just downloaded an app for my phone that allows it to take video. I'll try to keep the postings of blurry vids of my pets to a minimum, but you can always catch every low-rez minute at my Youtube.)

My dad told me about this book:

He said it was excellent. It was about a dog living with a typical American family, and it also included some dog mythology. One part of this mythology is reincarnation. Dogs keep being reborn as dogs until one day they are born human. One thing the dog narrator in the novel wants is oppossable thumbs.

When I was growing up we had a cat who we used to joke was really a monkey without thumbs. He could open the front door by turning the knob with both paws.
